Dr. Katie Topping is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. With a background in both functional and cosmetic eyelid procedures, she brings a delicate balance of technical expertise and artistic sensibility to every case.

Dr. Topping earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota, completed her ophthalmology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego, and went on to advanced fellowship training in oculoplastics at Stanford University. She later returned to San Diego to serve as Director of Oculoplastic Surgery at Naval Medical Center for six years.

Dr. Topping treats a wide range of conditions—from eyelid and eyebrow procedures to skin cancer reconstruction, lacrimal system repair and orbital surgery. She also performs botulinum toxin injections for both cosmetic and medical purposes. A teacher at heart, she has trained dozens of future eye surgeons and holds academic appointments at Loma Linda University and the Uniformed Services University.

After 13 years of active-duty service, Dr. Topping is excited to bring her expertise to civilian practice—delivering exceptional, personalized care to the patients of Island Eye Specialists.
