Dr. Paul Ware, M.D.

Comprehensive Ophthalmologist

Dr. Ware joins Island Eye Specialists from Sharp Rees-Stealy’s Department of Ophthalmology in San Diego where he practiced comprehensive medical ophthalmology for six years. Prior to this, Dr. Ware served on active duty in the US Navy as both an ophthalmologist and Diving Medical Officer with Deep-Sea Diving and Special Warfare communities.

As Department Head of Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery at the Naval Hospital (now Naval Medical Center) at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Dr. Ware specialized in cataract and laser refractive surgery to include LASIK, PRK, and ICL vision correction surgery.

Having lived on Coronado while serving as the Medical Department Head at Naval Special Warfare Center from 2001-2003, he is thrilled to return to this special community as part of the Island Eye Specialists medical team.

He currently lives on a small horse ranch in North County with his wife and two children.
